About Department of Mathematics

           With the very establishment of the Government Arts and Science College on December 27, 2010, at Thennangur, Vandavasi - 604408,Tiruvaanamalai District, Tamil Nadu, Mathematics was recognized as an important discipline, and the necessity to appoint a Professor in the subject was strongly felt. 

 

          The Department of Mathematics is an integral part of the institution, committed to providing quality education in mathematics and developing students analytical, logical, and problem-solving abilities. The department of Mathematics was established in the year 2010 with an undergraduate B.Sc degree in Mathematics. The M.Sc degree is being offered from the year 2017. The department offers a strong academic foundation in both pure and applied mathematics, enabling students to understand mathematical concepts and apply them to real-world problems.

          The department has a team of qualified and experienced faculty members who use innovative and student-centered teaching methods. Regular lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops, mathematical activities and problem-solving sessions are organized to enhance students learning and mathematical skills.

          The department encourages students to develop an interest in higher education, competitive examinations and interdisciplinary applications of mathematics. Areas such as applied mathematics, mathematical modelling, statistics, fuzzy mathematics, differential equations, and computational mathematics provide opportunities for academic development.

The Department of Mathematics strives to create a stimulating academic environment and aims to produce graduates with strong mathematical knowledge, critical thinking, creativity, and professional competence who can contribute effectively to society and various fields of science and technology.
