English Department - Objectives

  • To strengthen students' proficiency in the four language skills — Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW) — through structured classroom instruction and practical exercises

  • To introduce students to major literary genres, periods, and movements in English and world literature, fostering critical and analytical reading skills

  • To bridge the rural-urban divide in English communication by offering remedial classes and add-on courses for first-generation learners

  • To develop soft skills, employability skills, and personality traits necessary for higher education and the job market

  • To encourage participation in seminars, workshops, debates, and literary competitions to build confidence and public speaking ability

  • To promote research aptitude and academic writing skills among undergraduate students

  • To instill humanistic values, cultural sensitivity, and global awareness through the study of diverse literary traditions
