About Computer Science Department

             The Computer Science department was established to meet computer professionals to scope with the challenges in the IT industry. In Government Arts and Science College, the Department of Computer Science was started with the B.Sc. Computer Science course in 2010. This undergraduate course spans six semesters and is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in computing principles, programming, and problem-solving skills essential for addressing technological challenges in today’s world. The department also offers complimentary papers like mathematics and statistics.

            In this fast-growing technology era, a B Sc in Computer Science has a significant role in acting as a feeder course for higher studies in computer science and applications.
